Migraines. If you've ever suffered from these dibilitating headaches, you'll want to read this.
First, if your migraine is caused by subluxations, then please get yourself to a chiropractor. If you're not sure, a chiropractor will be able to determine if that is the cause by conducting a thorough chiropractic, orthopedic, and neurological examination. Often x-rays will be utilized in achieving the proper diagnosis.
Second, in addition to utilizing chiripractic to help realign the spine, you will want to examine your diet.
The best diet to follow, in my opinion, is the paleo diet. Please visit Dr. Cordain's website, www.thepaleodiet.com
If you find this diet too hard to follow, then let me make some recommendations of foods to avoid.
One of the reasons for avoiding the foods that I will list here is that they contain tyramine. Tyramine is a natural substance formed from the breakdown of protein as food ages. Usually, the longer a high-protein food ages, the greater the tyramine content. You will find the highest levels of tyramine in aged cheeses. Some foods contain bacterial enzymes that convert the amino acid tyrosine in foods to tyramine.
Foods to avoid -
Aged cheeses, American cheese, Gouda, processed cheese, sour cream, and yogurt
Alcoholic beverages would include ales, distilled spirits, draft beer, most wines
Meats and fish - Aged meats such as summer sausages, pepperoni, salamies. fermented fish, pickled meats, potentially spoiled meats
Fruits and vegetables - Avocados, bananas, overripe figs, red plums, spinach, fava beans, green and Italian flat beans, saurkraut, soybean products. tomatoes, yeast extracts to name a few
