Joey Reynolds on WHNZ
Friday 12-21-2007 12:19pm ET
Variously described as the Joe Franklin or Jack Paar of radio, or one of America's loosest cannons, Joey Reynolds has been a self-described "radio nut" for more than 45 years. He was one of America's great rock 'n' roll disc jockeys, and made his early reputation on Buffalo's WKBW before stops in Hartford, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and elsewhere. Hip, happy, and occasionally poignant, Joey's act was years ahead of its time: a Talk Radio host in a music radio world. Now you can hear the legendary Joey Reynolds live from the "crossroads of the world", Times Square every night, with a brand of unpredictable, stream-of-consciousness talk that will make you think you're in a roomful of the most interesting people you ever met! You can even join the conversation by calling 800-321-0710. Joey has also authored a recent book, called "Let A Smile Be Your Umbrella", filled with anecdotes and stories about the many celebrities that Joey has encountered. It's the story of a man whose rise, fall, and re-birth were fueled by the power of laughter. "Comedy and Conscience" might best describe this nocturnal radio extravaganza by the leader of the Royal Order of Night People. Spend the wee hours with Joey Reynolds on WHNZ seven nights a week... he's on Tuesday through Saturday mornings from 4 until 5am, and Sunday and Monday mornings from 1 to 5 am (recorded).
And just in case you were wondering, the song you hear at the end of Joey's show is called "Beyond the Blue Horizon" by Lou Christie. Wanna buy a copy? Go here. You're welcome
