Prosecutors: Reeves was texting before deadly shooting

DADE CITY, Fla., (970 WFLA) - In the latest documents released by Pinellas-Pasco prosecutors, Curtis Reeves used his own cell phone to text a message to his son right before investigators say he fatally shot Chad Oulson over Oulson's texting.

The incident happened inside a Wesley Chapel movie theater in January, ironically, during a dispute over Oulson's texting during the movie previews.

Reeve's son was meeting his parents at that theater and told investigators that his dad texted him that he was already seated inside the theater.

Matthew Reeves also told detectives that when he entered the theater, he heard a noise and noticed a flash.

Curtis Reeves is charged with second degree murder.
